The Bachelor of Vocational Studies (BVoc) is a 3-years bachelor’s programme that undergraduate students can apply to. It develops the students’ skills and enables them to work in several industries such as media, software development, testing, politics, human resource, etc. The area of specialisation determines the career scope of this course. It gives exposure to subjects like mathematics, management, business analytics, finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and other disciplines. Students who complete the BVoc programme can apply for the M. Voc course if they intend to go for higher studies.
Syllabus – Important Facts for BVoc
-
Course duration: BVoc is a 3-year programme divided into 6 semesters. It includes both theoretical and practical subjects, with a project submission at the end of each semester.
-
Eligibility: Any student who has completed their 10+2 studies or a 3-year diploma course after the 10th grade is eligible to apply for this course. A minimum of 50 to 60% marks is required for the students to secure admission easily.

-
Exam format: The exam consists of 5 theoretical subjects and 2 software lab subjects. Each subject is of 100 marks, irrespective of whether it is a practical or theoretical subject. Another 100 marks are reserved for the projects that the students submit each semester.
-
Early Exit: The students can exit the programmes early if they are not interested in completing the course. Students who leave after 1 year of training get a diploma certificate, whereas the students who complete 2 years are bestowed with an advanced diploma certificate.
-
Practical learning curriculum: The course focuses on practical learning and encourages the students to complete an internship programme. Many colleges and universities collaborate with the top MNCs and companies to give hands-on training to the students during their internship programmes.
